Meet
Denver-based interior designer with a rare instinct for making spaces feel both beautiful and deeply lived in. Her work spans the full spectrum of residential design, and her clients tend to share one thing in common: they wanted a home that finally felt like them.
The Approach
Carter doesn't subscribe to a single aesthetic - and that's entirely intentional. Having grown up between the coastal ease of Maine summers, the antique-laden parlors of Richmond, and the quietly refined sensibility of her family's Greenwich roots, she developed an eye that was never confined to one corner of the design world. That breadth followed her through an Art History degree at SMU, a Master's in Art Business from Sotheby's Institute in New York, and 7 years of immersion in one of the most design-saturated cities in the world - before she came home to Denver to build something of her own.
What emerged is a practice grounded in warmth, driven by curiosity, and defined by genuine collaboration. Carter's approach begins with listening - really listening - to how a client lives, what they love, and what they've never quite been able to put into words about their own taste. From there, she brings structure, curation, and a level of detail that most clients don't even know to ask for.
The Work
Carter Grey Designs is a full service studio, handling everything from initial concept through final installation. She works primarily with residential clients, with select commercial projects when the fit is right.
The Experience
Her clients describe working with her as clear, collaborative, and genuinely fun. The result is always a space that feels collected and considered.
